Former Baylor head coach Art Briles is among the candidates who will interview for Houston's vacant position, sources told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.

Ex-LSU head coach Les Miles and current Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, both of whom have already been linked to the Cougars, will reportedly be interviewed as well.

Briles spent five seasons with the Cougars prior to his stint with Baylor, leading Houston to a 34-28 record that included a 10-win season in 2006.

While a reunion between he and his former employer is possible, a different source told Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle that it's "unlikely" the 61-year-old will get an interview.

Baylor and Briles parted ways over the summer following a report that implicated the coach for failing to appropriately handle sexual assault allegations against numerous players during his tenure.

The Cougars will also interview interim coach and defensive coordinator Todd Orlando, and offensive coordinator Major Applewhite.
