First the first time since 1987, and just the second time in program history, Eastern Michigan is going bowling.

The players found out Tuesday that they'll take part in the Bahamas Bowl, where they'll face Old Dominion.

The Eagles finished the season 7-5 after winning just one game a year ago. As well, this year marked Eastern Michigan's first winning season since 1995.

Old Dominion, meanwhile, qualified for its first bowl game in program history. The Monarchs transitioned to the FBS in 2014, though were ineligible for postseason play in the first year due to a two-year transition period from the FCS.

After posting a 5-7 record in 2015, Old Dominion finished 2016 9-3 and grabbed a share of the division title in Conference USA.

The bowl game, which will be played Dec. 23, will mark the third time in the past three seasons the schools have faced each other, with Old Dominion sporting a 2-0 record.
