Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

A recent study by Business Insider has concluded that if college players were paid in a similar fashion to NFL players, Texas would top the list at $671,173 per player annually.

The study arrived at its results by using data from the Department of Education and factoring in that NFL players receive 47 percent of all revenue. Business Insider split each program's football revenue between the school and the players on the roster.

Alabama is second on the list, finishing more than $130,000 behind Texas at $536,485 per player, followed by Tennessee ($521,854), Michigan ($487,979), and Auburn ($479,634).

The average figure for an FBS player found in the study is $163,869, with the average program taking in more than $29 million in revenue each year.

The Longhorns also topped the list last year with a figure of $622,104.
