Arizona's Nick Wilson to miss multiple weeks with 'new' injury

Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

Arizona running back Nick Wilson battled an ankle injury earlier in the season, but it's a different ailment that's keeping him out of action.

Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez announced Wednesday that Wilson is dealing with a "new" injury that's expected to keep him off the field for more than two weeks. Rodriguez didn't reveal the nature of the issue.

Wilson had a solid start to the season, rushing for more than 100 yards in each of his first two games and totaling three touchdowns, but injuries have limited the junior to only 14 carries since.

Arizona has felt the loss of the rusher in the win column, as the Wildcats have dropped four straight games.

The good news for the team, though, is that quarterbacks Brandon Dawkins and Anu Solomon have returned to the practice field. Dawkins stated yesterday that he was cleared to return following a concussion.
