The saga involving Baylor and its football program over the past year has come back to the forefront.

Head coach Jim Grobe has disputed the university's version of why defensive tackle Jeremy Faulk was dismissed from the team in June.

Grobe spoke with reporters Monday evening and said Faulk was suspended by the team, but not dismissed, after he was accused of a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in April.

"I think that's the way most coaches deal with problems if you've got kids that have issues. They may come back to the football team, but they may not temporarily be able to represent the football team, and that's not just Jeremy - it's any kid on our football team," Grobe told reporters on Monday.

Following the comments, several Baylor coaches took to social media Monday night at the same time, supporting Grobe's comments and pushing back against the university.

"We've handled that internally and we're not going to comment any further on it," associate athletics director Nick Joos said in regards to the coaches taking to social media. "We've handled that here tonight."

The news comes after Joos said in a statement on Friday, that Faulk was dismissed from the university in June due to violations of the university and athletic departments Code of Conduct, and that both Joos and Grobe agreed upon the decision.

Faulk transferred to Baylor from Garden City Community College in Kansas, after he originally played at Florida Atlantic.
