Florida State's Sweat to return vs. North Carolina after meniscus surgery

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Florida State's defense will receive a much-needed boost Saturday with the return of defensive end Josh Sweat.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher announced Thursday that Sweat will be in the lineup when the 12th-ranked Seminoles host North Carolina. Sweat missed last week's win over South Florida after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Sweat actually suffered the injury during practice Sept. 15, but still suited up for the big showdown with Louisville two days later - a game the Seminoles lost by a disastrous score of 63-20.

With star safety Derwin James still out after knee surgery of his own, Sweat's return helps a Florida State defense trying to get healthy.
