Oklahoma St-Baylor delayed by lightning after opening series

WACO, Texas (AP) The Big 12 opener for Oklahoma State and Baylor has resumed following a lightning delay of about 1 1/2 hours after the 16th-ranked Bears scored on the first series of the game Saturday night.

After a 23-yard touchdown run by Terence Williams, the game was delayed before Baylor's point-after attempt. The teams left the field, and fans were instructed to take cover with the Bears leading 6-0 with 13:22 left in the first quarter.

Lightning could be seen east of McLane Stadium, the campus facility on the banks of the Brazos River. But it never rained during the delay, and Connor Martin made the PAT kick for a 7-0 lead when the game resumed.

The Cowboys had a nearly two-hour weather delay early in the fourth quarter last week in a 45-38 home victory over Pittsburgh.
