Report: Arizona State's Perkins out indefinitely with neck injury

Matt Kartozian-US PRESSWIRE

Arizona State's quarterback battle has gone from three to two, following a neck injury to Bryce Perkins, according to Doug Haller of azcentral.com.

Perkins left Monday's practice and was a no-show on Tuesday, originally fueling speculation that the 6-foot-3, 201 pound signal-caller was going to transfer out of the program.

There is no timetable for Perkins' return, but according to reports he could miss up to three months.

With Perkins sidelined, Manny Wilkins and Brady White will battle for the starting job.

The Sun Devils open the season Sept. 3rd against Northern Arizona.
