Auburn's Roc Thomas: Will transfer from Auburn

Thomas has been granted his release from Auburn and will transfer to another school, Brandon Marcello of SEC Country reports.

Analysis:

Thomas is expected to transfer to Jacksonville State, although it hasn't officially been announced as his future destination. Thomas was fighting for a starting role in the backfield for the 2016-17 season, but appeared to be trailing Jovon Robinson for rights to the lead back. Instead of remaining at Auburn, Thomas will look for a featured role elsewhere and he should offer his new team a combination of both rushing and receiving skills. Thomas finished last season with 261 yards and a touchdown on 43 rushing attempts, while he also notched 200 yards and a touchdown on 11 receptions through the air.
