Iowa State's Lazard to miss spring game with broken hand

Reese Strickland / USA TODAY Sports

Allen Lazard won't be suiting up for Iowa State in its spring game on April 16.

The Cyclones' top receiver suffered a broken hand and will be sidelined, a team spokesman told Bobby La Gesse of the Ames Tribune. On the plus side for Iowa State fans, the injury isn't expected to keep Lazard out of fall camp, and he should be ready to go for the season opener.

The sophomore enjoyed a breakout season in 2015, hauling in 56 receptions for 808 yards and six touchdowns.
