Monmouth got a win Monday night, but also suffered a loss.
Senior guard Deon Jones broke his hand in the Hawks' 79-70 victory over Manhattan, and will likely undergo surgery, coach King Rice told reporters postgame.
Jones will meet with doctors Tuesday to determine if surgery is indeed necessary. A timetable for his return has yet to be determined.
He's the Hawks' third-leading scorer with 10.5 points per game, and is also one of the team's top defenders.
Monmouth improved to 22-5 after taking care of the Jaspers on Monday.
