VIDEO: Refs ignore obvious violations before Ball State's 2OT buzzer-beater

Michael Hickey-US PRESSWIRE

A common complaint in college basketball is that officials are too whistle-happy at the end of games, playing too large a role in the outcome of the contest.

This was not a problem during an insane sequence at the end of the second overtime between Ball State and Eastern Michigan.

Following a mad scramble off a missed Cardinals jumper, it seems as though the officials could have called any variety of a jump ball, traveling, or a foul, yet they pocketed their whistles, allowing Francis Kiapway to stick the game-winning 3-pointer.

Kiapway had 22 points on the day, none bigger than the ice-cold jumper from distance for the win.
