Auburn center Trayvon Reed was released from prison last week following a jail sentence that stemmed from a second-degree misdemeanor assault charge.
Reed broke a policeman's finger as the officer was attempting to keep him from leaving a 7-11 with an ice cream bar he hadn't paid for.
Reed's sentence began May 11, and Tigers head coach Bruce Pearl said the center was released "last week."
"He is on his road to recovery," Pearl said, according to James Crepea of the Montgomery Advertiser. "He will be back in school this summer."
Reed came off the bench and averaged 8.9 minutes in 23 games this past season.
On the bright side, Auburn fans now know what Reed will do for a Klondike bar.
