Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin has received the OK to once again do what he loves.

The Bearcats announced that Cronin has been officially cleared to resume his coaching duties without restrictions after missing the majority of the season due to arterial dissection.

The ailment is a a non-life threatening vascular condition which caused him lingering headaches. It was discovered after he coached the first nine games of the season.

Associate head coach Larry Davis stepped in for Cronin and helped the team go 16-9 as they went forward. The team finished with a 23-11 overall record and made the Round of 32 in the NCAA tournament.

Cronin was thankful to be back with the team after his ordeal:

I would like to thank the entire University of Cincinnati community and administration for their support during the past three months. I also would like to thank UC Health and its neurosurgery department, especially Dr. Norberto Andaluz and Dr. Todd Abruzzo, for the care that I have received. Obviously, I'm excited to be coaching again, but most importantly, I'm grateful to be 100 percent healthy.
