What to Watch Day 5: Can West Virginia body Kentucky for a victory?

Greg Bartram / USA TODAY Sports

Each day of the NCAA tournament theScore's staff will highlight the biggest games and best matchups that deserve to get your attention. We will let you know when to watch and where you can tune in.

3 games to watch

Midwest Region: No. 1 Kentucky vs. No. 5 West Virginia, 9:45 p.m. ET on CBS

Top-seeded Kentucky is an easy choice for recommended watching because they play with all the confidence of the undefeated team they are. The Wildcats have shown some weakness shooting, finishing 37 percent from the field against Cincinnati, but that has not hampered the team from displaying all the size and speed needed to destroy opponents.

West Virginia defeated Maryland 69-59 and earned a matchup with Kentucky as a prize. Head coach Bob Huggins has trained his team to run its opponent to the ground and then capitalize on the fatigue, so the Mountaineers' physicality may have them hanging in with the Wildcats longer than expected.

West Region: No. 6 Xavier vs. No. 2 Arizona, 10:17 p.m. ET on TBS

Arizona and Xavier will meet for the first time in the Sweet 16. The Wildcats, who were considered a No. 1 seed until they were given No. 2, have continued their quiet domination by winning their last 13 games with the beastly duo of Stanley Johnson and T.J. McConnell at the helm

Xavier has surprised critics by making it into the Sweet 16 for the fifth time since 2008. While the Musketeers face a challenge in the Wildcats, Xavier has defeated good teams and will give them a fight.

A key storyline to the Arizona-Xavier matchup is that Wildcats head coach Sean Miller and Musketeers head coach Chris Mack know each other well. Miller was Xavier's leader before leaving to coach the Arizona and Chris Mack was his assistant who replaced him in the head role.

West Region: No. 4 North Carolina vs. No. 1 Wisconsin, 7:47 p.m. ET on TBS

Top-seeded Wisconsin is in the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in five seasons and was looking all types of dominant on the court until it ran up against Oregon. After surviving the Ducks after being out-rebounded and after shooting 43.1 percent from the field, the Badgers are hungry to prove they are deserving of the top seed.

North Carolina is a team full of scoring options, with four players averaging double-digits in points. While the Tar Heels have delivered strong performances in its NCAA tournament victories over Harvard and Arkansas, they may find themselves at a disadvantage if they are forced to face Wisconsin without center Kennedy Meeks.

Matchup to watch

Kentucky G Devin Booker vs. West Virginia G Juwan Staten

Devin Booker may be the second-leading scorer on Kentucky, but the freshman guard is mired in a shooting slump, going 3-of-9 from the field and missing all of the five shoots he took from beyond the arc against Cincinnati.

Juwan Staten was back in action in time for the tournament after suffering a knee injury during the regular season. Despite being the leading scorer for West Virginia, he shot a dismal 25 percent from the field against Maryland and missed the only 3-pointer he attempted.
