Performer of the Day: UCLA's Tony Parker
UCLA's Tony Parker won't be mistaken for that other, multi-NBA-championship-winning Tony Parker much longer if he continues to have outings like he did Saturday.
The UCLA forward had a breakout game when his team needed it the most against UAB, leading the team to the Sweet Sixteen.
Standing 6-foot-9, 260 pounds, Parker was a menace in the paint on both sides of the floor, finishing with 28 points on 11-of-14 shooting, with 12 rebounds and three blocks.
Marking a career-high in points, the junior was a puzzle the Blazers couldn't quite figure out as he led the 11th-ranked Bruins to a 92-75 victory.
While many doubted UCLA's presence in the tournament, it'll be hard to deny after Saturday that Parker may be seeing the biggest boost in hype in this year's tournament.
The big man even knew it was the right time to capitalize on his success, as he tried to finesse some game on sideline reporter Allie LaForce.
