NCAA Game Summary - Army at Boston University
Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - D.J. Irving led with 20 points as Boston University defeated Army, 91-70, in the Patriot League semifinal game on Saturday.
Malik Thomas supplied 15 points and seven rebounds and Dom Morris contributed 16 points as the Terriers (24-9) will face American University in Wednesday's championship game.
John Papale chipped in 14 points, while Maurice Watson Jr. had a game-high 17 helpers to go with 10 points in Boston U's fourth straight victory.
Kyle Wilson paced Army (15-16) with 22 points and Dylan Cox had 12 points and five boards, as the Black Knights' two-game win streak ended.
The Black Knights started off the game hot on an 8-2 run that Wilson capped with a layup, but Thomas fueled a timely 8-0 burst with a jumper and layup to knot the game at 10.
Irving capped a 9-2 burst with a trey to give the Terriers a 10-point lead with 2:49 to go, but Army scored the final six points of the half to get within four, 39-35, heading into the break.
Less than a minute into the half, Army tied the game at 39, but Boston U took a 12-point lead after Watson Jr. hit a jumper to make it a 62-50 game just past the halfway point.
Army could not cut into the lead and Boston U's lead swelled to as many as 24 points in the final minutes.
