Marshall gets leading scorer Elmore back for 2017-18

Marshall received some good news Wednesday in the form of its leading scorer returning to school.

Thundering Herd guard Jon Elmore is withdrawing his name from NBA draft consideration and will return to the team, he told Jeff Goodman of ESPN. Players have until May 24 to pull out of the draft if they so choose, as long as they haven't hired representation.

Elmore averaged nearly 20 points per game last season to go along with 5.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds. His play helped Marshall to a top-10 scoring offense in 2016-17 as well as a 20-win season.
