Nation's No. 7 recruit Kevin Knox turns down $1.4M China offer

Kevin Knox is one of the most sought-after high school players in the United States, but apparently it's not just colleges that are seeking his services for next season.

The seventh-ranked high school player in the country was reportedly offered $1.4 million to play professionally in China next season, but his father said he turned it down to play college ball instead.

"I didn't put much stock into the offer," the elder Knox, also named Kevin, told Bob Putnam of the Tampa Bay Times. "We politely said thanks but no thanks. He's going to college."

The 6-foot-8, 203-pounder was coveted by almost every school in the country, but has limited his choices to Duke, Kentucky, Florida State, North Carolina, and Missouri. Both his parents attended Florida State, with his father a member of the 1993 National Champion football team.

Most would think that gives the Seminoles the inside track, but Knox is a good friend of the nation's No. 1 recruit Michael Porter Jr., who recently signed with Missouri. During Knox's official visit to the school, he posed for a photo with Porter Jr. in Tigers gear.

Where Knox ends up remains to be seen, as there are a few weeks left in the spring signing period, but it's clear now that he won't be going overseas despite a very lucrative offer.
