UC Santa Barbara will name Joe Pasternack its new head coach Friday, sources told Jeff Goodman of ESPN.

Pasternack joins the Gauchos after serving as an assistant coach for Arizona since 2011. He was named associate head coach by the Wildcats in 2013.

Prior to his run at Arizona, he was the head coach at New Orleans, leading the Privateers to a 54-60 recording during his four seasons.

Pasternack will replace Bob Williams, whose contract wasn't renewed last week after 19 seasons as UC Santa Barbara's head coach. The Gauchos went 6-22 during Williams' final season, but did have 14 winning seasons and made three NCAA tournaments during his tenure.
