Duke's Grayson Allen: Team-high 20 in loss

Allen came off the bench to score a team-high 20 points (5-13 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 7-7 FT), adding three rebounds and two assists in Sunday's NCAA Tournament loss to South Carolina.

Analysis:

Allen was really all Duke had left by the end of the game, as Jayson Tatum, Matt Jones and Luke Kennard all fouled out before the final buzzer. His trio of three-pointers and ability to draw contact helped keep Duke in the game, but the team was ultimately unable to keep pace with a Gamecocks unit that put up 65 points in the second half. Allen now has some tough decisions to make about his future. He's unlikely to land in the first round of the NBA Draft, but it remains to be seen if he wants to return to school following a junior campaign that was filled with turmoil -- so much so that it led to a suspension due to repeated tripping incidents. He's a player who's surely seen his stock slip since a sophomore campaign where he posted a tremendous scoring average of 21.6 PPG.
