Duke's Amile Jefferson: Five blocks in win
Jefferson tallied 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, five blocks and two assists across 33 minutes in Duke's win over Wake Forest on Saturday.
Analysis:
Many believe that Duke's kryptonite is their lack of a true big man. If undersized Jefferson can be their answer, then Duke may be able to make a run deep into March. With five blocks in the contest against Wake Forest, Jefferson proved that he's a capable post defender. He also netted 16 points, something Duke doesn't necessarily need to rely on Jefferson for. Next up for Duke is a road matchup with Syracuse on Wednesday. The contest will provide more indication as to whether Jefferson can in fact fill that post role for Duke.
