Terrance Ferguson's career is over at Arizona before it even started.

The five-star shooting guard has informed the school he won't be enrolling in order to pursue professional opportunities. It's a big blow for the Wildcats, as Ferguson was ranked 11th on the ESPN 100 and the prized recruit in Sean Miller's 2016 class.

Ferguson could conceivably play one year overseas and then take his shot at the NBA draft. It would hardly be the first time a player has gone this route.

Arizona's been through this before, as Brandon Jennings also snubbed the Wildcats to play in Italy for a year before being selected 10th overall in the 2009 NBA draft.

More recently, 2015 seventh overall pick Emmanuel Mudiay opted to play in China instead of heading to college before being selected by the Denver Nuggets the following year.
