Troy adds Florida's DeVon Walker as graduate transfer

Troy added a major conference piece for the 2016-17 season Monday, as former Florida guard DeVon Walker will join the program as a graduate transfer.

"We're thrilled with DeVon's decision to continue his career as a fifth-year grad transfer here at Troy," head coach Phil Cunningham said in a school released statement. "Our team has been missing an athletic, play-making wing, and DeVon definitely brings those characteristics to the court."

Walker was a depth piece during his time at Florida, scoring 2.4 points per game during his best season in 2013-14. He tore his ACL and missed the entire 2014-15 campaign before returning last season, seeing limited action with just 10.6 minutes per game.

While his numbers aren't particularly flashy, Walker brings a wealth of big game experience to Troy, as he was part of the Gators Final Four and Elite Eight runs in 2013 and 2014.

As per NCAA regulations, Walker will be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer.
