Creighton's Mo Watson withdraws from NBA draft, will return for senior season

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Creighton received some good news Thursday, as guard Mo Watson announced he'll be back in the fold for another season.

Watson told ESPN's Jeff Goodman that he'll withdraw his name from the NBA draft and return to the Blue Jays for his senior year.

Watson averaged 14.1 points and 6.5 assists per game in 2015-16, shooting 47 percent from the field. Losing him would have been a significant blow to a team that has missed the NCAA tournament the past two seasons.

The junior took advantage of a new rule this season that allows players to return to school after declaring by May 25 if they don't hire an agent.
