Adam Silver to re-evaluate All-Star Game fan voting

It appears celebrity-fueled All-Star Game voting will be put under the microscope.

After many high-profile musicians and athletes made a significant impact on the 2016 vote, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said the league will need to re-evaluate how the starters are chosen.

"On (fan) balloting, it's something we'll continue to look at," Silver said to USA TODAY Sports' Sam Amick. "We love the fact that fans have input into who the All-Stars are. As social media changes the world and is disruptive, it’s been mildly disruptive to our balloting systems as well. I know that’s something we’ll take a fresh look at."

Over the past two years, celebrities such as Justin Bieber and Wyclef Jean have had a huge influence due to their massive follower base. Last season, Bieber's last-minute tweet gave Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry the necessary votes needed to pass Dwyane Wade as a starter.

The NBA will announce the All-Star Game reserves - decided by the coaches, not fans - on Thursday evening.
