Russell Westbrook: I'm 'done' with technicals

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook has amassed 71 technical fouls over an eight-year career, but the explosive ball-handler says he's now moving on from picking up unnecessary techs on the court.

"I'm done with those days," Westbrook said to ESPN's Royce Young during a shootaround session Tuesday. "I learned in the summertime, once they make a call, they ain't changing it. Took me a while, but I learned it."

Despite the high infraction count, Westbrook has normally kept his cool enough to stay in games, limiting himself to only three ejections in his career. The Thunder floor general also took even further steps over the summer to try to eliminate attempting to sway a referee's decision after the fact.

"I watched film, I watched all my techs and all the dumb s--- I was doing, so I decided to tell myself, there's no need to argue," Westbrook said. "They're not changing it, so move on."

Some of his colleagues don't believe Westbrook is fully done yapping to officials just yet, specifically longtime teammate Kevin Durant, whom has played alongside the guard since his rookie season.

"Not at all, not at all," Durant said. "We'll see. Hopefully he doesn't get any more, but I don't buy that."
