Hawks' Splitter probable Saturday vs. Spurs

Atlanta Hawks big man Tiago Splitter is probable for Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore.

Splitter, 30, had missed seven games until being reactivated Wednesday versus the Dallas Mavericks, but the 6-foot-11 Brazilian's nagging hip injury kept him out of Thursday's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In 15 games this season, the six-year veteran is averaging the worst numbers since his rookie campaign with 5.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.3 blocks. Sporting an impressive 20.5 PER in his sophomore season, Splitter's efficiency rating has dipped considerably to 12.2.

The 14-10 Hawks would benefit from having Splitter back Saturday, as the former Spur is intimately familiar with San Antonio's playbook and also serves as an additional post presence for a Hawks frontline that features the relatively short - by front court standards - Al Horford (6-foot-10) and Paul Millsap (6-foot-8).
