Spurs without LaMarcus Aldridge vs. Grizzlies

Craig Mitchelldyer-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

San Antonio Spurs power forward LaMarcus Aldridge will miss Saturday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the team announced.

Head coach Gregg Popovich will start David West in Aldridge's absence.

Aldridge is dealing with a sprained left ankle sustained during Friday's loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. He landed awkwardly after rising up for a hook shot against Anthony Davis, but returned to the game shortly thereafter before finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds in 32 minutes.

His absence will most certainly be felt against the Grizzlies' vaunted frontcourt, although the Grizzlies might also be short on depth, as Zach Randolph sat out on Friday with a sore knee.

There's some consolation for Spurs fans as Manu Ginobili will return to the lineup after sitting out two games on account of a hip injury.
