Heat's Stoudemire active vs. Cavaliers

Soobum Im / USA TODAY Sports

Miami Heat reserve forward Amar'e Stoudemire is active for Friday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to game day notes from Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.

The 32-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the fourth team in his 13-year career. He also brings with him an injury-riddled track record.

The Florida native - who did not play in the Heat's victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday - recently said the team plans to save the six-time All-Star for "big games."

Stoudemire will serve as a backup to fellow frontcourt players Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside.

He signed a one-year, $1.5-million deal with the Heat in July.
