Analysis:

Babbitt's only a minor rotation player off the bench for the Pelicans, but considering how banged up the team is heading into the opener, his potential return would be quite a welcome development. Though he doesn't figure to see much more than mid-teens minutes if he plays Wednesday, Babbitt's solid stroke from the outside -- he led the league last season with a 51.3 percent shooting rate from three-point range -- would provide the Pelicans with some more floor spacing. Expect an announcement on his status to come down before Tuesday's contest tips off.
