Rose will resume basketball activities in 2 weeks
Point guard Derrick Rose is expected to resume basketball activities in two weeks after undergoing a procedure to repair his fractured left orbital bone, the Chicago Bulls announced Wednesday.
The procedure went as expected, the team added.
The 26-year-old sustained the injury during the team's practice on Tuesday when he ran into teammate Taj Gibson's elbow, according to Bleacher Report's Kevin Ding.
Hoiberg on play Rose got hurt: "He made a great baseline drive, made a good kick-out to the corner and one of the bigs caught him."

Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg said earlier Wednesday that he hoped Rose would be ready in time for their Oct. 27 regular-season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With this update on Rose's prognosis, the six-year veteran should be fit to return to the team's on-court practices by Oct. 14.
The Bulls' first preseason game is scheduled for Oct. 6 against the Milwaukee Bucks.
