After a deep playoff run this past spring, the Atlanta Hawks unveiled a set of new and unique uniforms for the 2015-16 NBA season.

On Sunday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore revealed that Hawks players were integral in the design and functionality of the team's new threads.

According to Vivlamore, guard Kyle Korver wanted to have jerseys with thinner shoulder straps in order to reduce resistance when shooting.

Atlanta's star frontcourt duo of Paul Millsap and Al Horford requested alterations to the fabric, in order to prevent bunching around their middle - which previously gave opponents extra material to grab in the lane.

The team has also introduced team-themed socks that will match the uniforms.

Peter Sorckoff, Atlanta's senior vice president of marketing, is excited about the new aesthetic direction of their franchise.

"I really didn't feel the previous uniforms," Sorckoff said. "They really didn't make a statement about us one way or another.

"Twenty-five years from now, people will remember this uniform as it relates to Al Horford, Jeff Teague, Paul Millsap and Kyle Korver and so on."
