Matt Bonner uses deli's Twitter account, recruits actor, former NBAer for hoops tourney
Matt Bonner of the San Antonio Spurs is one of the NBA's resident characters, although, perhaps wisely, he is not on Twitter.
So rather than create his own handle, Bonner jumped on the little-known account of Cimos - what else but a Concord, N.H., deli - on Wednesday to offer random observations and enlist actor Michael Rapaport and former NBA player Brian (White Mamba) Scalabrine for a redheaded basketball team.
All we need is @Scalabrine to complete the Big Red Three. #SimplyRed #TheTournament pic.twitter.com/A9LmbAxzk7

Bonner, 35, is a free agent this summer and hopes to rejoin the Spurs. That's probably why he said he can't even play in The Basketball Tournament - a national 5-on-5 tourney with a $1-million prize.
However, Rapaport and Scalabrine appear to be on board.
@Cimos_Deli @Scalabrine Rapaport is in. #SimplyRed aka #TheBigRed3 is gonna shut shit down????????

With a lumbering big man and a 6-foot-3 actor, it's clear a deft outside shooter is needed - a problem Scalabrine solved by sticking to the carrot top theme.
I'm in but we need Ray Allen, let's go!!! #simplyred https://t.co/9tHTnidrlM pic.twitter.com/PjcyFBhqW0

As Bonner duly noted, Ray Allen is not on Twitter either. Alas.
For now, I'm outta here. Peeeeeeeaaaace! -Matt Bonner pic.twitter.com/BC1ikPh1El
