Derrick Favors out Saturday with back spasms

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

The Utah Jazz will be without power forward Derrick Favors when they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.

Favors is dealing with a back injury, and backup forward Trevor Booker will start in his place.

Favors has come into his own in his fifth season in Utah, posting averages of 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds while playing stellar defense at the power forward spot. With the help of Favors and emerging center Rudy Gobert, the Jazz boast the league's top defense since the All-Star break.

Although he's less of a scorer, Booker is a capable replacement. He gives the Jazz a quicker presence to cover the perimeter, if need be, and can knock down the occasional jumper.
