X-rays negative on Devin Harris's right hand, but won't play Friday

Devin Harris was in a lot of pain following Thursday's blowout loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, but escaped without serious injury.

Nevertheless, the veteran Dallas Mavericks guard will not be available for Friday's game against the Western Conference-best Golden State Warriors.

Harris was diagnosed with a bruise on the top of his right hand between his thumb and index finger after X-rays came back negative, according to Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News

"I was dribbling under the basket and (Robin) Lopez kind of took a whack at the ball and hit me in an awkward spot," said Harris, who was unable to move his hand following the Mavericks' 94-75 loss. "There's a little bit of pain. I can't really move it."

Harris, in the second year of his second stint with the Mavericks, has been a key reserve for Dallas, which sits sixth in the loaded West. He's picked up his scoring of late, and is averaging 8.9 points, 3.3 assists and shooting 34.2 percent from long range on the season.
