Hassan Whiteside pulls down 20 rebounds in win over Lakers

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Hassan Whiteside is rendering Windex impotent.

The Miami Heat center continued his improbable season with a career-high 25 rebounds Wednesday in a 100-94 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, his second 20-board night in three games and fourth this season.

The only players with more 20-rebound games on the year are DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers and Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons

Whiteside added 18 points and four blocks in the win over the Lakers, shooting 6-of-10 from the floor and earning a plus-20 in his 33 minutes.

He's now averaging 11.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks while shooting 63.2 percent from the floor, all in 22.1 minutes. Were he to qualify, he'd rank first in rebounds per minute, rebound percentage, blocks per minute and block percentage.

"I put in the work," Whiteside said after the game. "God takes care of the rest."

Whiteside certainly appears to be putting in the work. It's just too bad he's not getting paid piecemeal:

Not only does Whiteside make just $769,881 this season, he's also on the books for $981,348 next year.
