Harden dealing with shoulder issue, probable for Rockets' next game

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

James Harden hasn't looked like a man who's been bothered by nagging injuries for much of the season.

The Houston Rockets' MVP candidate has played through repeated leg issues and is now dealing with a left shoulder contusion. He was added to the Rockets' injury report, but is probable to play Tuesday against the Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Harden continued his scorching play in Sunday's thrilling overtime victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, scoring 33 points with eight rebounds and five assists to power Houston in what was one of the best games of the season. He did a little bit of everything - including kicking LeBron James in the groin - to help the Rockets extend their winning streak to five games.

Harden, the league's scoring leader, is averaging 27.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists, while turning in the best defensive rating of his career.

The Rockets have inched to within 1.5 games of the Memphis Grizzlies, whom they'll face Wednesday on the second night of a back-to-back, for first place in the Southwest Division.
