In a minor deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the New Orleans Pelicans acquired point guard Ish Smith, a 2015 second-round pick, the rights to Spanish League forward Latavious Williams and cash considerations, in exchange for a 2016 second-rounder, the Thunder announced.
The Pelicans then immediately waived Smith.
Smith has done more than his share of bouncing around in parts of five NBA seasons, and the Pelicans will already be his eighth team. In 30 games with the Thunder this season, he averaged 1.2 points and 0.9 assists in 5.2 minutes. For his career, he's averaged 2.7 points and 1.9 assists while shooting 38.8 percent from the field.
