Mavs' Ellis will play Wednesday despite hip issue

Monta Ellis will play Wednesday night as the Dallas Mavericks wrap up their pre-All-Star break schedule against the Utah Jazz.

Ellis - who tweaked his hip in Monday's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers - was considered a game-time decision earlier Wednesday.

Ellis will extend his active streak to 219 consecutive games with the start on Wednesday. Ellis is the sparkplug of the Mavs' offense, leading the team in scoring with a 20 point average.
