Hinrich out again for Bulls, Dunleavy a game-time decision

Dale Zanine / USA TODAY Sports

There's some bad news and some potentially good news for the Chicago Bulls as they prepare to host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday in their penultimate game before the All-Star break.

The bad news: Point guard Kirk Hinrich will miss his second consecutive game due to turf toe, which he suffered Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Without him against the Orlando Magic on Sunday, the Bulls' perimeter defense suffered, as the Magic's starting backcourt of Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton combined to shoot 13-of-22 and the Bulls were fortunate to escape with a one-point win.

The potentially good news: Swingman Mike Dunleavy, who has missed 19 consecutive games with a sprain, jammed ligaments and a bone bruise in his right ankle, participated in morning shootaround and is considered a game-time decision, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

Whether Dunleavy proves able to suit up, the fact he's at least getting close has to be welcome news to the Bulls, who have sorely missed his 3-point shooting, and have seen their offense take a fairly significant dip in his absence.

Bulls W - L 3-point % (rank) Offensive rating (rank)
