Kyrie Irving, Zach Randolph named Players of the Week

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Kyrie Irving was rewarded for turning in the best game of his career and for leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to an undefeated week.

The point guard was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after powering the Cavs to a 4-0 stretch. Irving lifted the Cavaliers to a win over the Portland Trail Blazers - without LeBron James in the lineup - by scoring a career-high 55 points and nailing a franchise-best 11 3-pointers. It was only Cleveland's second win in 10 tries without James this season.

Irving averaged 31.5 points on 47.7 percent shooting from the field, including 51.2 percent from long range, 5.3 assists and 1.8 steals in 36.3 minutes to capture the honor for the third time in his career.

Memphis Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph took home the Western Conference honors.

It marks the fourth time Randolph has been named the West's Player of the Week as a member of the Grizzlies, surpassing Pau Gasol for the most weekly honors in franchise history.

Randolph helped propel the Grizzlies to a 4-0 week, including wins over the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder. Memphis has won six in a row overall. He averaged 20.5 points on 51.6 percent shooting from the field, 13.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists in 33.6 minutes.

The 14-year veteran has double-doubled in 12 consecutive games since returning from a knee injury in January.
