Celtics' assistant coach McCarty has larceny charge dismissed

A larceny charge against Boston Celtics assistant coach Walter McCarty will be dropped in exchange for the former NBA player paying approximately $20,000 to a contractor, according to the MetroWest Daily News

Massachusetts police had alleged the assistant on head coach Brad Stevens' staff wrote a bad check in the amount of $18,000 for kitchen cabinets in his home. McCarty and his lawyer maintained the bounced check was a misunderstanding and a banking issue.

McCarty is in his second season with the Celtics following a year on the Indiana Pacers bench. McCarty had a 10-season playing career with the New York KnicksPhoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers and Celtics.
