Speights: Warriors no longer allowed to celebrate with contentious song

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors are 17-2, have won 12 consecutive games and appear to be on top of the world.

There may be no stopping their two-way juggernaut on the court, but it appears the organization - or the NBA - has stepped in to at least limit their post-victory fun.

During their winning streak, Warriors players have celebrated by posting Instagram videos of the team dancing and signing to the song "Coco" by O.T. Genasis.

It's an abjectly horrible song, but it's catchy enough that several game operations crews around the league have been using it for the in-game experience. The bigger issue is that the song is explicitly, unabashedly about cocaine.

That's probably why, as Marreese Speights revealed Sunday, the team can no longer celebrate with the song:

Andrew Bogut further explained Monday that the team had received complaints from people who were offended. He also said there are some interpretations of the lyrics, which, no, there aren't. It's about cocaine.

At least there will always be this collection of celebrations from YouTube user NorCalSports Insider:

The Warriors will probably be winning plenty the rest of the season, so they may want to find a new, more family-friendly (and hopefully, better) song to celebrate to.
