Timberwolves' Young passed baseline concussion test

Brace Hemmelgarn / USA TODAY Sports

After taking an elbow to the head from Jimmy Butler and leaving Saturday's game against the Chicago Bulls with a neck strain, there is some good news for Minnesota Timberwolves forward Thaddeus Young.

Young fell limply to the ground after catching Butler's elbow and did not return to the game, which Minnesota lost, but head coach Flip Saunders said Sunday that Young passed a baseline concussion test.

Young played only 17 minutes against the Bulls because of the injury, but he's averaging 17.7 points on 52.5 percent shooting through three games with the T-Wolves.

Minnesota doesn't play again until Wednesday, when they're in Brooklyn, but Young's status isn't yet clear.
