Report: Rondo went to trampoline park days before undergoing surgery on broken hand

Raj Mehta / USA Today Sports

The Boston Celtics will be without point guard Rajon Rondo for the next six to eight weeks due to a broken hand.

Rondo and the Celtics' official party line is that he slipped while in the shower. Or, could the culprit have been something more sinister?

Probably not, but  the Celtics were aware that Rondo went to a trampoline park on Tuesday for his daughter's birthday party, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman. Could a little harmless trampolining have been the cause of his hand injury?

Ultimately, it matters not how Rondo broke his hand. What matters is that he might miss up to the next two months. In the meantime, Celtics rookie Marcus Smart will likely garner an extended look at starting point guard.
