Johnson will open up training camp playing small forward, ESPN New York reports.

Analysis:

Johnson primarily played shooting guard for the Nets last year, but coach Lionel Hollins announced he views him as a small forward. With the departure of Paul Pierce, Johnson will move over as the starter ahead of last season's often injured Andrei Kirilenko. Alan Anderson and rookie Bojan Bogdanovic will then compete for the starting position in the void left from moving Johnson over. Although his scoring numbers went down, Johnson had a decent year last season averaging 15.8 points, 3.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 0.6 steals, in 33 minutes per game, even with him being in the thirteenth year of his career.
