Nerlens Noel will be the starting center to open camp, the Philly Inquirer reports.

Noel will open camp as a starter in the frontcourt, the Philly Inquirer reports.

Analysis:

Noel missed the entire 2013-14 season recovering from ACL surgery, but looked good this summer playing in both the Orlando and Las Vegas NBA Summer Leagues. He showed himself as an active rebounder and an athletic defensive presence, as his knee held up well and he didn't report any problems. With Joel Embiid out for the foreseeable future, Noel and Henry Sims will have rights to the starting jobs, although it remains to be seen what the Sixers plan on doing once Embiid returns. The young center will have all the opportunities he wants this season, as the Sixers are in "building for the future" mode and Noel is one of the key pieces of that future.
