USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo, in speaking with Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports, quelled expectations of Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love playing for the team this summer.

Love withdrew from the squad, presumably in a move of self-preservation in the event of an upcoming trade, but rumors have also cited the possibility of Love being added back to the team

Team USA's training camp contingent currently numbers 16, vying for 12 final roster spots. Earlier on Tuesday, the team confirmed the cuts of Bradley Beal, John Wall and Paul Millsap. Even without Love, the squad boasts a number of capable frontcourt players in Kenneth Faried, Miles Plumlee, DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond.
