The Los Angeles Lakers continued to bring back the primary pieces from their disappointing 2013-14 season on Friday, reportedly re-signing forward Wesley Johnson to a one-year, $1 million deal.

Johnson spent last season masquerading as a combo-forward on an undersized Lakers team, despite having spent the first three years of his career splitting time between the wing positions.

He wasn't particularly effective, posting below-average marks in true shooting percentage (52.2 percent) and player efficiency rating (11) for the fourth consecutive season and liberally grading out as average on the defensive end of the floor. He averaged 9.1 points and 4.4 rebounds, both career bests, but those also came in an up-tempo system.

Still, he's a former No. 4 overall pick and is just 27 years old, so the Lakers taking a cheap flier deep in the rotation is hard to argue with. With the team having added several power forwards, he'll be able to shift back to his more natural spot at the three, too.
